Using the above trainings as my foundation, I now offer regular classes in Hatha Flow, Yin Yoga, Aerial Yoga and Yoga Nidra, from the beautiful, dedicated Yoga Studio @ Ed Lodge.

Edwardian Lodge is a lovely Guest House to the North of Salisbury city centre, with its own yoga studio (with aerial fixings included), which has been run by my parents, Gillian & Richard White, for many years.

Ad-hoc yoga classes and Aerial Yoga for Kids & Teens run throughout the major school holidays from Ed Lodge plus other local venues – please check website or social media for current updates and planned locations.

My Approach:

You can never predict your teaching style prior to beginning to teach – this in itself has been an interesting journey to experience and observe.

In my (floor based) hatha flow classes, I am very centred on the breath, beginning with focused breath awareness, turning your attention inward and listening internally to how our bodies are feeling in this moment. The class then builds, through warm up sequences towards the Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) & standing & balancing sequences, before beginning to slow and cool down taking you towards meditation and the final relaxation, Savasana.

In addition to all the above, there is always room in my Hatha Flow classes for smiles, a little humour and a warm sense of community.

Aerial Yoga classes have a more playful and interactive vibe, just by their very nature.

Silk hammocks, hung safely from two points on the ceiling, are provided in this class to be used as a key prop and to enhance your yoga asanas, assisting with flexibility and providing support, as well as providing challenging strength work and a lovely decompression of the spine that can be achieved through inversions in the hammock.

It can be truly exhilarating to have that child-like sense of flying, inverting and simply playing and being a little creative with our bodies in this practice.
— Emily B

Emily lives close to the Edwardian Lodge in Salisbury, with one husband, three children, two cats and one dog.

Emily was born in Salisbury, heading to London for university at 18 years old. Emily then spent the first few years of her working life in the advertising industry, before re-locating back to Salisbury in 2006 and running a sign company with her husband, whilst raising a young family.

In November 2017, Emily finally stepped away from the day-to-day running of the family business, to focus fully on her yoga teaching journey.
